The Latest Women's Fashion Trends 2022
Posted by Jintao Du on
Let’s be real, we lived in sweats the majority of last year. So, it’s no surprise that SS22 is all about maximum style mileage. We’re talking full-on party mode here.
Whether it’s sexy cutouts or rocking a bra as a crop, everyone seems to be daring to bare a little more. Quite possibly fuelled by the desire for escapism while we were all locked down, there’s no holding back when it comes to dressing up.
It’s no surprise then that we’re seeing micro-mini skirts, sky-high heels and eyecatching glitter that are made to steal the show. Vibrant colours will also make their appearance, especially bold and bright handbags. Statement patterns and sultry swimwear can’t be missed either.
We’re so ready to dress the part. So without further ado, here’s what we’re predicting will be the next big fashion trends of 2022.
Short and Tight
Look - we’re not complaining about this one. Everything from mini dresses to micro skirts, there’s no fear in baring all this season.
We’re even seeing low-rise mini’s make their way to the stage. Our favourite? We are in love with high rise micro skirts. A classic black number can’t do you any wrong.
All Things Purple
A new trend slowly creeping into this season’s must-dos? Incorporating purple into your outfits.
This year, we saw Pantone release ‘Very Peri’ as the colour of the year. From periwinkle shades like that to richer and more regal tones, we’re placing bets that purple is going to be the next big thing.
Lock in your signature tone now ladies.
Criteria? The brighter, the better. Since we’ve seen designers Balenciaga and Givenchy introduce statement handbags in bold shades, everyone has been obsessed.
From sherbert orange to hot pink to lime green, there’s no colour kept aside. If it’s a little much for you, then opt for contrast or colour-blocked pieces.
The Low-Rise is Back
You may love it or hate it, but you’re going to be seeing this around in 2022. Low-rise bottoms are back and we’re instantly being transported to the ‘90s. Sitting below the belly button, you can go for the Y2K vibe and go for a sultry thong-revealing look. For a classier take, opt for low-rise denim jeans or leather pants.
